Wow shaun - 2 really amazing early A&F's.
Clearly both Valj.72 powered but i'm in some doubt about the case. Are they early 2444 style cases ?
I love the prominant patina of the one on the right. I have a very similar early 2447 Heuer badged version i will reveal shortly with has more than just a passing resemblance to your dial. Let me gather some photo's and write it up for sunday. In the mean time may i suggest a little polywatch for the crystal of your beautiful new arrival to bring out its full charm.
Cheers - Darren
: New arrival, a variation on the more often seen Abercrombie &
: Fitch 1950's so called "Clunker" (so called by Jeff).
: The new arrival is on the right. The dial is more coppery and a
: different finish, it's not just patina. Everything looks good
: under a loupe. Movement and back case markings look correct as
: well. Serial number is a 6 digit number (42xxxx, if I remember
: correctly), whereas the one on the left has a five digit number.
: The cases look identical, in height as well.
: Any one (Jeff?) have any views on this? Whatever the experts say, I
: really like it. Very happy with it and a different feel to the
: one on the left, so nice to have both in the collection.
