Haven't we been through this before...
Your orange diver isn't an 844, it's a 980.005 with a replacement caseback from an 844, with the steel finish hands from an 844 (or 980.006 quartz). Or your watch is an 844 with a replacement orange dial.. I'm not trying to be disrespectful by calling your watch a franken, but stating that the standard factory model looks 'sh*t' is a little uncool, given that many diver collectors on here have one, or have owned one.
The black hands is what the orange diver is supposed to have as standard.
Hope this helps explain the differences. Personally, I think a correct orange diver looks great, but that's just my opinion.
