Virtually all automobile engines now have a great deal of plastic in them. Mechanical watch movements, not so much. While its likely that this is because mech watches became a niche item since being effectively replaced by quartz watches on the mass market side (economy not necessarily being a key selling point for a niche item so much as perceived craftsmanship), I can't think of other mech movements with much plastic in them outside of Swatch.
