Hello Jeff,
In my experience, watchmakers focus on weaknesses more than strengths when talking about the movements they work on. It's just how we think.
I didn't read Jack's comments as particularly "damning" or overly critical necessarily nor do I read the comments of my other watchmaker friend I just posted that way either. Obviously my comments are on the critical side for the most part (although theoretical/philosophical more than practical mostly) and Mr. Bergsma's pretty clearly lean that way (critical) also.
