I ship several watches a year to the UK and have used Fedex for all of them up to about $5k.
However, they will only insure jewelry (that's what they call watches) up to $1k and that is for loss only NOT breakage, still I've been lucky. Unless you paid by wire you will have recourse any way if it doesn't show up.
