Yep - Paul knows his stuff, he is what I'd call a proper photographer.
He is right.. my pics aren't big, they might be good on a screen.. but they wouldn't be great for print. I'm sure Paul knows, and he is being generous.. but I'm sure he can tell that I use certain techniques to make my pics look good. Like I said, I'm fairly repetitive, I do what looks best and repeat.. pump the contrast up, but do it in a 'clever' way, clean up dust spots etc, keep the backdrop neutral (greys/blacks).. etc etc.

When it comes to proper photography, I would suck.. and a £5k camera wouldn't help either.

On a side note, my Lumix has a 28mm lens - that is wider than many other point n shoots, so maybe it helps a lot? - but I don't really understand all that fully, but AFAIK, 28mm is wide than the regular 35/38mm jobbies.
