Re: What is Your View of Homage Watches?

Simply put, homage watches are for the look only. Many "watch enthusiasts" out there are only about the style, so these (or a $20 fake on Canal) will serve their purposes well. However, a true watch aficionado is not so much about the style as he or she is about the story. I would have no regard whatsoever for Heuer chronographs if it weren't for my love of sports-car racing. Though I much admire dive watches and flight watches (I wouldn't mind adding a 5512 and an early Speedmaster 145 to my collection), the truth is those watches don't mean much to me, where instead Heuers do.
