In Response To: Good question! ()

Stewart,

"I know Edouard started" ???? And me thinking you're too young to have been there ;-) My bet is that (US?) marketing got in the way of history in 1950, when they wanted an 'occasion': a 90th anniversary. ..(some of us know all too well) once you lie there's no way back.....

Cheers,
Jurgen

: Jurgen,
: I checked my library or old adverts,a nd the old catalogues on OTD,
: and you are correct, there was '4 years found'.
: I know that Edouard Heuer started his workshop in 1860.. maybe he
: didn't register the name until 1864, and just made
: 'blank/un-named' watches - just a guess, I don't know.

: Interesting subject though!
