As mentioned, I have very little knowledge re these but it was interesting to read your posts. I have found most of the elements of this watch in others of around that time. My first reaction was that it has been cobbled together but it does look rather good like it is and could potentially be genuine. My heart tells me it could be legit but I hope someone with much more experience than me comes along ....
