Just for posterity as I fear the worst, this was my response 15:00 GMT

Its a sad day in the watch world when two highly regarded, passionate and highly regarded watch guys get penalised for expressing their opinion. Both have an extensive knowledge of the vintage Heuer brand so their opinions have merit and through healthy debate, a previously unseen watch from a bygone era can get some due diligence in order to determine its roots and authenticity. The arguments presented were mostly logical and controlled but reactive and charged at times when challenged by less than qualified opinions, irrelevant statement and personal attack. Was this any different to previous such situations that frequently occur on this and all other watch forums across the net? I guess the answer to that is in true no but in this case it happens to be the moderators watch so outcome is what it is. This may well be my last post too if the trend continues and this thread keeps shrinking.
