I am glad nobody ever changed out this dial for a service dial but having said that...I think your arctic ice is a more apt description.

In my opinion the dials with fantastic patina are the dials which have aged gradually and gracefully. Those which have aged by trauma are rarely beautiful or fantastic. I leave it to each individual to make any judgement about the dial in question.
