Welcome back tri-compax - but a date inside a register ???

I welcome the idea of Tag producing a new in-house movement. After the less than welcoming reception from the public on the 1887 movement then this should be a very positive experience.
I would have liked to have heard how wide the 9 & 3 registers are apart as i have felt the size of the modern Tag line up have caused the dials to look cross eyed as the registers have been placed too close together.

Will a non-date version ever be an option ?
The date is not a crucial complication in my eyes and could make a very simple layout look a little too busy if not dealt with correctly.

The fact that the running seconds is down at the 6 register position may seem a little odd to those that have grown up on a diet of Valjoux.72 & 7736 movements but i think i would learn to love the new layout. The Cal.12 movement had the same chrono read layout and we all seem to enjoy that. It will be like having a Cal.12 with a running seconds down at 6 !

Finally
Please Tag Heuer have a look at this posting by a forum reader which shows his design interpretation of what a re-issued Autavia with 1960's roots should look like. http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?md=read;id=60134
The second version down (with the white registers) would be a huge hit if it were produced without a date window in the left register. Make it 41mm wide and you would have a runaway sales hit (IMHO)!!
