I got into a bit of a friendly fight today on camera forum (notice I didn't say photographers' forum) when I called Nikon's new retro-digital Df camera a HipsterCam.
I even make a fake ad for the camera using a picture I took this summer of a very cool hipster retro/analog camera store in Amsterdam Photoshopped to include the reflection of a hipster girl with the new Nikon Df taking a picture of the store.
I guess I have too much time on my hands. Anyway, with Jeff's recent post about the new in-house Tag ref-1969 movement I started to think to myself, what is a hipster watch? I am a photographer and I called the retro Nikon Hipster. I don't think of retro looking watches as Hipster watches. Is this simply a prejudice of mine? Are all retro/vintage watches the tools of hipsters? Am I really a hipster because I wear an old watch every day?
Help me. I am truly troubled.
