Some other time, maybe?

Please understand that I am not writing out of envy, but admiration.

You may know that my reason to be on this site is my fascination for Dash Timers. And Heuers are the undisputed ' Brand'.
Other than the Quartz watches, I and maybe '000's of other 'watchers' do not have the disposable income to indulge our hobbies (mine being Historic Rally Cars)
as well as the collection of Autavia's, Monaco's etc, no matter how much we might hope to be in a position to buy them.

So, you Guy's, here is another Quest for another time, if you chose to accept it.
Which is, given $1000, 2500, 5000, $10k what would you advise to be the best investment for 1, 2,or 3 watches? Quartz, or Mechanical, Heuer or other 'Sub' Brand?

BTW. I love the 'buzz' on this site!
