Re: The interesting thing about Heuer auctions...

First of all - ebay bidding is suspect at the outset. There is no more amateur auction being held at any time, any where, church basements included. Perhaps the Hodinkee/Gear Patrol crowd is high on Heuer and have more money than sense as they flee from Rolex hegemony and want something actually cool and unique for status - a shifting of the status quo, as it were. Hell, us hardcore watch guys have been blowing up the internet with our obsession for well over a decade now - people are catching on, (sadly or gladly, depending on what your quiver already holds).

Last and obvious point: these watches are rare and cooler than anything else you can put on your wrist. Period. They deserve stoopid money on some level. So who wants to start focusing on Lorez 5100 based chronographs now? Who's with me!! C'mon! They're so hard to find and soooo cool and soooo cheap!

I'll go back to my peanut m&ms now...or are those percocets? So hard to tell.
