"Blizzard" Hits ATL and OTD HQs

Atlanta gets an inch or two of snow, every year or two, and this legendary inch arrived this afternoon.

Difficult to explain exactly how this happened, but the 8-mile drive home took 3 hours and 55 minutes, from 5:02 PM to 8:57 PM.

-- At the 2-hour / 3-mile mark, I was stuck in traffic, a few feet away from the El Fuego Estate, so almost asked Mike whether I might bunk there for the evening . . . might have been fun!!

-- At the 3-hour / 5 mile mark, I had the unique experience of parking my car and using the "restroom" right in the middle of Peachtree Street, directly across from Lenox Mall, at the height of rush hour traffic . . . but no one seemed to notice or care.

Here is a news report on Snow Jam 2014

Yes, it was a different kind of day here in ATL . . . glad that I got the "Best of 2013" posting done last night, before the storm hit.

Bottom Line: A good day (and night) to be wearing the "Old Clunker" (from 1943). Also fun to have the Samsung Galaxy Camera in the briefcase!! Photos below show the view from my desk (around midday) and OTD Headquarters (a few minutes ago).
