That's right! Just arrived via the son of the original owner, whose father purchased it in the 1960's but rarely wore it because he preferred gold watches instead. He then gifted it to his son in the early 90's, as he needed a watch to wear to his first job and the Carrera had been sitting in a drawer for decades anyways. The son enjoyed it, but when he learned the cost of servicing it soon after, decided to follow in the family tradition of tucking it away in a drawer. And thank goodness he did!

First order of business will be to send it away to get serviced, as it has some dust flecks under the crystal and isn't running at the moment (hey, it couldn't all be perfect, could it?), but the movement looks clean to my eye, so hopefully it's a relatively easy fix. Will post a follow-up in the coming weeks (hopefully not plural months...) once it's been looked after. For now, however, enjoy a few snaps I took after receiving it tonight!
