Monte Carlo A&F
In Response To: Re: Heuer Master Time A&F ()

Price doesn't exist in a vacuum. There have been a number of the 3 button Monte Carlos sold on ebay recently of similar condition, some A&F and some not, and they have struggled to make $1000. Selling prices have generally ranged in the $800s, with one very nice Monte going around at least twice without a meeting its reserve of $1000.

The only explanation I can see is that the buyers are all European or Asian. In this particular case, the top bidders are from Hong Kong and Taiwan, and at least one of them is a dealer and I assume he has a buyer for the Monte because he never bids that high for a Heuer dash clock.

It's not that the Monte isn't a very nice piece. It certainly is. But the price is way out of line with current prices. I think that's great for the seller, provided the buyer pays, but it could create false expectations that all nice 3 button Montes are selling that high. It simply isn't so.
