State of the Collection (SOTC) 2006

OK, fellas . . . It's January 18th (almost January 19th), and I am way late with this year's "State of the Collection" message. So here it is: the state of my collection, as of year-end 2006 (more or less). You will find:

  • 40 Heuers across the top of the table

  • 10 of the "poor men" across the fifth row, from Zodiac, Hamilton, Clebar, etc.

  • 10 "others" across the bottom
You can click on any of the thumbnails to take you to additional photos and information.

2006 was a good year to be collecting the Heuers. My list of Heuers went down from 46 to 40, but I feel as though I upgraded some of the models and also moved into some new realms -- with the Speedmaster and Cosmonaute. David casued all of us to consider our motives and priorities, and I am confident that I am moving toward a better collection, that I will enjoy more, even if it will have fewer items in the inventory.

It's getting late here in ATL, so let me post the image . . . we can discuss some of this philosophical stuff later . . . maybe others will reflect on their 2006 or post some shots of their collections or favorites.

You can view through the frame (below) or Click Here to see the image in a new browser.

Thanks to all our readers, writers, editors, designers, photographers, advisors, lurkers, collectors, dealers, buyers, sellers, traders, bankers, translators, shippers and OTD / Chronocentric Good Guys . . . you really make this hobby and website lots of fun.

Jeff
