Carrera 1153 . . . For Starters
In Response To: Carrera 1153 confusion ()

I am not the expert in these, but I can probably get the discussion started (subject to some further research and the opinions of others who know more).

Looking at the two samples below, I believe that

  • the dial should always contrast with the registers and the inner bezel ring. So we see the blue dial, with the white registers and white inner bezel . . . so if the color of the inner bezel matches the color of the dial, it is probably a replacement (bezel or dial)
  • the inner bezel ring should always have the tachy markings, although the scales vary (in terms of the numbers shown), with 50 to 200 on the earlier models and 60 to 500 on the later models
  • Note that the 1158 CH (gold version) is different, in that it has contrasting regsiters, but the inner bezel ring matches the gold tone of the dial

Comments? Corrections? Confirmations? All will be welcomed.

I like this model and have found various on sale/been sold on eBay and TimeZone. However I'm bit confused about colors and dial.

Is it supposed to be white tachy ring, blue dial and white subdials or is the ring supposed to be off-white (cream color)? I also saw one without tachy ring or the ring is there but without any markings. It's supposed to be original. Is this another configuration or is something wrong?

Thanks in advance!
