For Our Quick Reference: Chart of Dollar (vs) Euro

for our reference, as we are discussing prices of some watches, here is a chart showing US dollar versus the euro, during 2008. Of course, this chart does not show years of history, but only these few months.

Still, we are seeing prices of some of our favorite Heuers increase strongly, in both euro and dollars. I am not an economist, and will not even speculate about price inflation, hard assets versus soft assets, etc. But this chart tells me that the increasing prices in Heuer chronographs cannot be attributable to deflation of the USD, at least over the last five months. 3,800 euro / $6,000 for the Diver 100 or Siffert are strong prices, regardless of which currency you choose as the reference.
