Re: Monaco CS2111 Serial?
In Response To: Monaco CS2111 Serial? ()

: Hello-

: My Monaco is far less exotic than nearly everyone else's here—my
: vintage Autavia and Pasadena are the right stuff, though—but
: it is loved quite a bit nonetheless.

:

: It is a second reissue (model CS2111) from 2000-2001. I was
: wondering where I would find the serial number for it. There is
: no serial on the back nor between the lugs. On the movement is
: written "V8B93" but I do not know if that is an ETA
: number or the serial number. Any guidance would be appreciated.

: -Daniel

That is really surprising, as the serial number line is supposed to be just below the model number line in the back of the watch. The back should show MONACO, then the Heuer (not TAGHeuer) shield, then CS2111, then the serial number No.XXXXX, and finally the phrase "By TAG Heuer".

Another surprise is that, as far as I know, the CS Monacos were never issued with the bracelet in your picture, but only with a leather strap (FC8119 or FC8120) and a Heuer prong buckle. The novelty here is that, supposedly, only watches with a CW2111-0 model number were able to accept the bracelet, because of an allegedly different positioning of the holes for the spring bars. I guess that, unless proved otherwise, that assumption was perhaps an urban legend only. I personally own a CW2111, but I've never been atracted by the bracelet, so I can not confirm nor deny.
