Really interesting.

Initially I wondered if the really rough finish montreals (big particle size) were fakes, but the prevalence of this finish, and Arno's book, convinced me otherwise. However, as you say, even on the one model (the montreal) the finish varies alot.

One mystery I could never answer though was why did Heuer make a PVD montreal in cal12, but not then a pvd 7750 montreal, when it was the true era of pvd? It seems illogical.

I guess if Heuer behaved in a systematic and logical way we'd all have alot less to discuss...
