I bought the watch in april 2006 from Alpha Omega and at that time the watch listed for $2650.00.
They discounted by 25% to $1985.00 + tax. As these are among the more attractive offerings by
Heuer in the last decade I assume their value will increase someday and they are hard to find presently.

Some asking prices I have seen for ex condition are $2250, $2100, $1,800, £1,795, £2,049.
I would think $2000 is a great price.

Here are a couple of OTD posts that were made in 2007 about this watch.

This carrera was produced in 2004 and also (some pieces) in 2005 with a limited number of 1964. Refferring to the first Heuer Carrera by Ed.Heuer. I bought a new one myself last year as the design and colour-scheme of this model is really great and looks very vintage. I know here in Belgium one or two watch-shops which still got this model in stock! Priced around 3500 US Dollar. Authorized Tag-Heuer dealers. As stated before you must ensure yourself its not a fake one and has all the appropriate markings...there's one for sale on eBay. There are no pictures from the case-back though.

I wished for one of these and figured I would wait till the prices dropped like it did for the 1964 re-issue Carreras. Two years ago there were few to be found on the internet and most sellers wanted list price and above. Since then I have seen two sold on ebay for list and slightly above. All I can advise is to be patient and hope for a good one to appear.

Just for fun this is a composite pic of Heuer Carreras and the Lancia team cars, one of which won the 1953 La Carrera Panamericana
