Re: Vintage Monaco Days: Let's Play a Game . . .

I'd want to pay no more than £1800 for this one due to the re-dial. It'd only be usefull to me for the movement and case really.

One question for you Jeff, did we ever get to bottom of what was in the big box on the roof of your Mini???

David H

: Following up on today's wonderful celebration of Thomas's new
: arrival, let's play a new game tonight and Friday.

: Just for fun, I am asking our readers to answer two questions
: relating to the Monaco shown below: Fair market may be defined
: as "the price at which [an item] would change hands between
: a willing buyer and a willing seller, neither being under any
: compulsion to buy or to sell and both having reasonable
: knowledge of relevant facts" [Wikipedia definition of
: "Fair Market Value"]. Under this definition, what is
: the "fair market value" for this watch? If the owner
: offered to sell you this watch, what is the highest amount that
: you be willing to pay for it? For purposes of this exercise,
: let's assume that (a) the watch is in good mechanical condition,
: with an authentic Heuer movement (b) the spots in the photo are
: dust on the crystal, rather than marks on the dial, and (c) the
: watch will be on a generic leather strap.

: Please post these numbers: (1) Fair Market Value and (2) the
: maximum price that you would pay?

: Jeff
