Luminous on Heuer Carrera 1964 Re-Edition

While recently sitting in a movie theatre, I noticed that the luminous on my Carrera re-edition (CS3110) was not working. After placing it in direct sunlight I retested it at home, and there was no glow. This has me concerned because I know that a lack of luminosity is one way to detect a fake. However, I opened the back and the lemania movement looks 100% real...based on my knopwledge. I also called my local TagHeuer reseller, and they claim that the luminous material will wear out over time. This watch is nearly a decade old.

Can someone please shed some light on this and hopefully put my mind at ease.

Many Thanks!
