Star of David on dial - what does it mean?

Hi all, hope you're all having a splendid Friday!

I have a little black dial / gold Heuer Automatic, from the 50's I think, similar to one that Jarl has (see his pic below).

I just wondered what the significance is of the Star of David, I've read that they are on other watches too, not just Heuer... can you help solve this mystery?
