Taking the plunge,need to know how to re-paint the red hand?

Thanks for the input guys...
I know without a photo it's unhelpful....sums me up really...lol
Looked at the 1979 catalogues and at a few other frenchie examples, especially Nic's (Heuerboy) nice crystal clear photo's.
I have only one thing that I can see wrong with it...one of hands should be red and it is obviously faded, original shape etc....
Any recommendations on how to re-paint the hand??
