Re: Beware the devils and tigers
In Response To: Beware the devils and tigers ()

Hi Darren,

good advice, it sounds like quite a place. I think I would prefer not to meet either of those......

I have not mastered photos as yet, so my selction now includes.

Garmin 305 for super accurate time keeping

Breitling Emergency in case we end up in serious trouble.

so the choice remains Either

Siffert or Silverstone for the more dressy functions.

Watch buttons are too small to use with a gloved hand while racing, but I do have 3 stop watches to keep time too.

ill post some pics when IM back of course

: Hi Jason,
: the Targa Tasmania has a really big following inside Australia. I
: remember years ago there was always good TV coverage of it
: showing the historics/classics&exotics screaming around the
: rugged tasmanian countryside. There are some really tricky
: sections thrown in each year so keep the red-mist for the race
: tracks and you'll keep all 4 wheels pointed the right way down.

: Did you know that Tasmania has devils and tigers, they are each a
: form of wild life unique to that region. The Tasmania Devil is a
: ferocious meat eating mammal that looks something like a cross
: between a rat and a bulldog. The Tasmania Tiger, on the other
: hand, is a form of primitave native wild striped dog beleived to
: be extinct after farmers and settlers shot them out back in the
: late 1800's. Rumours still persist of tigers being sighted by
: drivers late at night on remote sections of road. There were
: unconfirmed sightings by Targa competitors a decade or so ago,
: enough to send the scientific community scambling to try and
: find a living example. Sadly no firm evidence shows they still
: survive but the locals swear there are still small numbers in
: existance.

: Choice of watch - hmmm. What colour car & race suit are you
: sporting. You could try to match or contrast according to your
: own colour scheme. I would suggest an automatic, it could be
: with all the action going on around you that you'd forget to
: wind a manual movement watch.
: Why dont you narrow it down to 3 or 4 you'd like to take and then
: post photo's on the forum - we could vote and help you make the
: selection.
: Good luck with the racing.
: Cheers - Darren
