Not Quite So Romantic; Employee of MG Dealer
In Response To: Re: Carrera 45, with MG Logo ()

We might like to imagine that Gonzalez and Brady were works rally drivers, but -- at least in the case of Mr. Brady -- it is somewhat less romantic. I believe that he was an employee of a U.S. MG dealership, during the 1960s. I would guess that MG presented him with the Carrera as some sort of reward for selling their cars, or as an incentive, or maybe they were available for purchase within the MG network.

: The assumption is that he, along with the "E.W. Gonzalez"
: from Arno's watch (or ex-Arno watch I guess I should say now),
: were MG works drivers but nobody seems to be able to dig up much
: on exactly who they were.
