Flea Market Find - Zan Stopwatch--Poor Man's Heuer??

Hello all,
Today I picked up an interesting stopwatch at the flea market for 6 bucks, and I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this item.
It's identical to the stopwatch on the left in this photo, and is marked "Zan Co." and some serial numbers on the back.

When I saw it, I instantly recalled it looks a lot like a Heuer military stopwatch (see example below), but it bears no Heuer markings, though the pushers and hanging loop seem to be aluminum, not plastic. Interestingly, google search shows me the face is clearly a "copy" of a Heuer, but it just has printed dots at 15 and 45 instead of actual screws, for example.

Does anyone know if the Zan stopwatch is just a knockoff? Or was it the same stopwatch guts as the Heuers, with a cheapo dial and lower cost case? I don't have the technical skill to open it up, sorry! In any case, I think you will agree it's pretty darn cool for 6 bucks, and it works!
