What are the 'C' markings on case backs?

I just spotted this in the trader section, the seller surmising that it could be because it was sold in Switzerland. I have a 11630 GMT with very similar markings (starting with C too)
I'm sure this was mentioned on here before, but I can't really remember the outcome.

Does anyone know what they are/mean?

This is the Autavia in the sales section: http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=21089
Below is a pic (I hope the owner doesn't mind me using this pic)...

Thanks
Stewart
