I'm with Rob..

I agree entirely.. and just for proof.. here's my Silverstone with one of his Sapphires fitted..

So for sapphire, you won't regret it. Another thing, the sapphire actually makes wearing the watch more pleasurable - as you know that it won't scratch, so you are (I am anyway) more relaxed about wearing it.

: David

: Very interesting question and I look forward to more answers.

: I am biased in my answer as I have had made sapphires for the
: Silverstone and
: Autavia and retail them so please take my input with a grain of
: salt.

: From a technology standpoint the sapphire is night and day better
: and the vast
: majority of new watches over the 1k mark wear a sapphire crystal.

: If as Stewart said any future owner was bothered by the sapphire he
: could swap
: it out for a few bucks though I doubt any one would.

: I think that if questioned by their watchmaker during a service
: they would choose
: sapphire over mineral crystal.

: Would you put 1950's oil in your car for the sake of originality or
: take advantage of
: newer technology.

: All the best.

: Rob
