I have just cracked open my watch for the first time and the movement is mesmerising!
I have a Panerai with a glass caseback so I can see the workings but the autavia is obviously far more complex and interesting.
How did they manufacture the components back in the 60/70's? I appreciate the technology was not necessarily new at this point in pocket/wristwatch manufacturing.But prior to computer design and the micro technology available today how were these parts made- and so accurately?
