The story continues.

Stewart pointed me to a third-party bracelet (http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?md=read;id=49242) which looks -- and in fact is -- heavy enough for this special watch.

I got my Hadley-Roma Solid Link Oyster Watch Band (Stainless Steel) from globalwatchband, there might be a source in the U.K., too. Contrary to other bracelets, this band can be attached and detached very easily using the well-known tools.
