When They Sit Too Long, Service is Required

Just to confirm what Rob has written, when they sit in the drawer (or anywhere else) for too long, they will need servicing / overhaul.

Imagine the car that has been stored in the garage for a couple of decades. You would never expect to crank it up and take it onto the highway. Well, it's the same for the watches -- lubricants, seals, springs, etc. will need some attention before you take it out on the road. It can get tricky because the watch may run, and even run well, but it will need the servicing, regardless.

: Welcome Joe

: Needing a service is normal. Springs loose their "spring"
: and lubricants break
: down over time.

: As for the sx, that is also normal. No idea what the stamping
: refers to though.

: Please post a photo or two when it is done. We would live to see
: your new toy.

: Cheers
