Word has been out about the wine for decades and the micro-breweries have turned out some decent stuff, but I've yet to find any nice cheese. And I do like a good bit of cheese! But most of what I see when I'm in the US tends to be heavily processed stuff, though I'll admit I haven't sought out any artisanal stuff.

I'll confess that I do tend to frequent non-US cuisine restaurants when I'm eating over there too, though in part that's because the US ones don't have much that appeals to me as a veggie. I am taking a look at menus from some of my favourite NYC restaurants as I type and salivating, mind you!
