Ever since the first couple of essays at Uni, when I realised I was just copying out the draft to produce a final copy without really making any changes, I strive instead to get it right first time. So I don't write drafts, I don't do much editing at all, I just sit down with an idea of what to write... and write. Sometimes I have quite a complete idea, even down to phrasing, but all in my head, not noted down.

For this one I did start with a list of drivers 17 names long, but no idea which would make the cut or in fact, even that there would BE a cut! It just became clear as I wrote that I wanted to write about them as drivers too.

So what you get is more or less a straight brain dump, so I'm always glad when it's (a) readable and (b) enjoyable!
