There are similar discrepancies with 1553s

All the catalogue shots show Carrera 1553s with metal markers, but we know that some of them come with lume stick markers instead.

The first appearance of the Cal 15 Autavias in brochures very obviously shows pre-production watches or mock ups:

So I wonder how much credence we should give the catalogues in this instance.

The Cal 15 was only introduced in '72 but already by the '76 Dutch price list, we see that the watches are slightly discounted and marked "whilst stocks last". I wonder if they just never got round to updating the catalogues for a range that didn't last all that long. Certainly with 1553s I know that some of the stick marker dials are service dials and this may have some bearing on the matter too. A check of marker against serial number could possibly be illuminating...
