917 road cars

A friend has just sent me a picture of a 917 modified for road use. Two 917s were modified in period, this one was ordered by a German hotelier:

and this one belonged to Count Rossi:

There are a couple of companies now making decent replicas, you just have to fit a 911 gearbox and engine. Here are a couple I think are in Austria:

I'd love one of those replicas, I'd have it in plain white like the German Hotelier's one!
