Happy 80th Birthday and Sincere Thanks!!

Of course we thank you for your amazing contributions to the development of the Heuer and TAG Heuer lines of watches and the brand itself. Whether it was working out the math for the Mareographe, coming to the United States to sell the stopwatches, designing the Carrera, pursuing the automatic chronographs, establishing the relationships with Siffert, Ferrari and the other racers, or designing your own 80th birthday Carrera, we all celebrate the amazing contributions that you have made to the brand. Of course, over these last few years, you have also been the face of TAG Heuer, the only man who was actually born to be an ambassador of the Heuer name.

Personally, I am most grateful for your contributions to our community of vintage collectors over the last several years. You have greeted visitors to the Museum and archives, granted dozens (or even hundreds) of interviews about the Heuer watches, and responded to all our questions about the history of the Heuer brand. You have shown endless patience with our elementary questions and, in your answers, you have always added colorful background information that we didn’t even know enough to ask about. Your recollections have enriched the heritage of the Heuer brand and added to our enthusiasm for the vintage Heuers.

So on behalf of all of us who collect the vintage Heuers, we thank you for your contributions to the brand’s development and we thank you for your contributions to our community.

I can’t sign off without adding at least a few images to this message, so I’ll add an early Seafarer, the Reference 2447 Carrera, a pair of Chronomatics, a photo with Seppi, a couple of the 18 karat gold Careras, and a couple of photos showing your 80th Birthday Carrera.

Have a happy birthday today and many more years of health and happiness!!

Jeff
