you had me running for the loupe just to check the number again but on a close inspection its definately 49229. The tail of the 9 does go quite high up but there is clearly a gap.
Yes i would say its fair to assume a re-lume on the Hour/Minute hands. Everyone would like a time machine to go back and prevent any original work being changed but i'm afraid thats simplely not possible.
The strap is a great match, your right that its going to look better as it ages and i plan on giving it plenty of opportunity to do so as the watch has barely been off the wrist since it arrived. Its one of those one's you look at the time 15 times a day more often than you need to, just so you can be amazed that its actually on your own wrist.
