I'll admit this whole rat look / faked patina scene that's popular in the VW and Retro Scenes leaves me cold. It's been going on for many many years in the aircooled and watercooled VW scene and it's just not for me.

A car with real patina that has just had it's mechanicals upgraded/sorted is a different ball game. Take this gorgeous Porsche 57 Speedster owned by a DDK member - no need to restore it, just look after it and preserve it's battle scars. In fact I think t would be a crime to restore it's external appearance.
