Heuer 1000 automatic *PIC*

Please help. I purchased this watch about 12 years ago and found out later that the watch automatic mechanics are not the original. The movement only fills 3/4 of the case and the crown does not seal properly, and yes, I felt pretty bad about the purchase.

Fast foward to now, I want to restore to the original movement if possible. I went to various website but could not find my model and the movement supposed to be. What makes more difficult is that the case number behind is 982.006, which per the reference table is Mens Quartz 42mm pewter PVD case and bezel, but I have an automatic dial.

Can someone please help me discover which model this is, and how can i best go about restoring it.
Thank you very much!

The photos are not great. The back reads
