Re: How to spot a fake Tag
In Response To: Re: How to spot a fake Tag ()

If the price is less than half of what it should be, stay away. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If the Tag emblem is glued on, it's a fake (they should be printed). If the watch has a glass back, assume it's a fake. Look for build quality. Is the finish wearing off? Can you see ridges from a molding process? This is bad. If it has a Tag bracelet, these usually hold up worse than the watch itself, look between the joints for breaks in the finish.

Never buy a Tag "Link" watch off the internet. Assume they are fake. Never buy from Yahoo Auctions, everything there is fake. ;-)

Most of all, if you are buying in person, ask to remove the back and check the movement or take it to another shop for verification. If you are met with resistance, walk away.

I love looking at known fakes. That way I can better determine what I need to stay clear of. Know your enemy!

: Oh yeah, and then keeping your fingers crossed
