I Sometime Wonder . . . ? ? ?

Most of the vintage guys seem to hate this new Viceroy version of the Autavia. We have seen the lists of everything that is wrong with the design, especially when compared with the beloved original model of the Viceroy. We have seen the attempt to improve the style via Photoshop.

But here's a question (or three) -- What will the average watch buyer think, when he or she walks into the mall store, and sees it in the display case? Can it look better to the watch enthusiast who does not know about the original vintage models? Or perhaps the beautiful style of the original Viceroy is something almost absolute, and a new watch that looks so different cannot be a strong style?

Only time will tell, but it will be interesting to follow the after-market for the various versions of the new Autavia (and Carreras, as well).
