In Response To: Competitors>Autavia c.861 Vs. UG Compax (Chicagoland Chuck Maddox)

chrono. interesting (in a good way) that it has a very similar tachy bezel as the speedy. i have seen others like yours (but with different colored dials) so i know it's correct....but a nice alternate to a speedy pro moon as well, imho.

Well, it's clear from the styling of the UG that the Bombé lug Speedmaster Professional was the intended design goal for the Compax. It's kinda amazing how much smaller the UG is than the Speedy Pro/Autavia. I'd wager the Compax is notably smaller than the Speedmaster Reduced.

Scan Day>Competitors> '69 Speedmaster c.861 Vs. Universal Genevé Compax:

these universal vintage chronos seem to bring in decent dollar amounts, from my ebay watching. kinda the reason i never got into them. would it be out of line to ask what kinda money this one goes for? i mean a ballpark, not an exact amount? just curious..thanks!

North of $1k, south of $1.5k (but not a huge amount south), freshly serviced with a 120-day warranty from a well-known internet dealer.

enjoy your new one...very cool...i still think the autavia wins in looks, but this one has a nice classic look to it also, imho. great pics & thanks for sharing!

They are very different watches in personality. The Autavia is all business, the Compax puts a cheerful, festive smile on the day!

Good Hunting!
