Import duty.

Hi Derek,

Believe me, I didn't ask ( or want ) to pay.

Since Switerzland is not in the EU, anything arriving in Germany / EU ( & Yes GB/UK IS a part of the EU ) is liable to import tax ( usually the local VAT/MWST rate ).

Since there was an invoice for the work done, I had to pay "German" tax on the non-EU invoice.

I'm sure it's the same in the UK.

I DID NOT pay tax on the value of the watch, which is a LOT more than the invoice value for the work done.

I didn't have to prove ownership of the watch, since from the Invoice it was clear enough that I am the owner.
