You are comparing a chronograph to a non chronograph, so to start, you are from one end to the other on your watch search, not that thats a bad thing, I just think you should decide on functionality. If the chronograph feature is attracting you, then I would bypass the Speedy day/date and go for the Speedmaster professional. I used to lust after the speedy day date with the silver dial, until I recently handled one in person. I was not overly impressed with it. It seemed small and the pushers were clicky and not smooth. The day date has the Valjoux movement in it, so thats why its so much cheaper than the PO.

I have the 42mm planet ocean and definitely would not purchase the speedy day date over it, if money is not an issue. YOu really need to try them on to see what im talking about. I have all but decided that if I buy an Omega chronograph, it will either be the Speedmaster professional, or one of the Broad Arrows.
