Theoretically it should be fine, just make sure that the crown and the release valve are screwed in snug and that it's been serviced in the last few years. I have a 2254, and shortly after I got it I took it into the pool with no problems. After the fact, I started to think that it may been a poor choice. I don't really need to wear it in the pool and it seems a little risky for a $2000 piece of jewelry. I'm not sure what I was trying to prove by wearing it. Now, I just leave it in its box when I go swimming. Just a personal preference.
